Sewing 4 Africa

Sewing and First Aid Kits
for Africa

My husband and I recently went to Kenya, Africa with Crosspoint International Missions. We delivered 400 Sewing Kits and many first aid kits to the wonderful people in Ngiini. If you'd like to view a short slide show please visit the Youtube video here: Kenya Slideshow. To read the blog entries from the trip please visit the CrossPoint Intl blog.

My heart was touched one evening when I saw a commercial for aid to the children of the third world. The beautiful face of the children just seemed to jump off the screen of my TV. I was moved to ask myself "what do the mothers of these sweet kids do when they fall and hurt themselves?" Well the answer was not hard to find. They can do little for the injuries, the water they have available to them is not clean and they have no band-aids to cover the cut.

I want to change that for as many moms as I can! So I am asking for all of you to help me help them. It will not take much effort on our part to put together small first-aid kits. All these kits need to contain can be placed in Ziploc bags: band-aids, first aid cream and a small pair of sewing scissors (like the child round tip craft scissors).

We are also going to put together sewing kits for the women of Kenya Africa. As sewers we have always had the ability to just get into our cars and run off to the the sewing store and grab what we need for the day.

The women of these small villages do not have the resources to even purchase a simple sewing needle. Can you find it in your heart to help me put together some simple sewing kits? All we need to do is place some spools of sewing thread, hand needles, and a small pair of sewing scissors in a zip lock bag. Think of what it will mean to a fellow sewer to be able to sew up her child's only pair of shorts or a hole in a pair of pants. Please help me help the ladies of Kenya sew for their families.

Bring in your receipts and I will give store credit equal to the amount you spent for each kit you bring into the store or feel free to mail kits to us at:

I would like this to be an on going effort. We will be so blessed when we know that we have uplifted a fellow Mother in another country. Help me help them.

Thanks and God Bless you all,
Judith Breunig
